Replying to LO25099 --
Dear John:
In the region served by my Commission, I have promoted the idea of a
"learning region."
The priority in the region's strategic plan is workforce development and
that has led to investment in education programs at our community college.
I've worked the college continuously over the past 27 years.
At the Commission's 30th anniversary I used the theme: "Celebrating 30
years as a regional community." It is my belief that community precedes
cooperation - and by regional alignment of programs we are learning.
I have done alot of work on the notion of "regional" and have a book
outline. If you have further interest you may contact me directly. I'm
responding though the list to see what else might surface.
