Greetings dear Andrew,
I do understand. But perhaps for the sensitive artists among fellow
leaners, allow me once again some telling.
In my mother tongue we have a most revered writer, poet and philosopher D
J Opperman. For example, he translated a few of Shakespeare's plays into
Afrikaans, making them even more vivid for us than Shapespeare could ever
do to us who are not English speakers.
Opperman once wrote that most artists have three things in common.
(1) They thrive on tensions and actions.
(2) They abhor indefinite abstractions.
(3) (I cannot remember the third one ;-) Perhaps Chris or Alfred can help me here.
The artists use these tensions and actions to create manifestations
(embodyments) for them. Their creations sometimes appear to be abstract,
but the artists move directly from these tensions and actions to their
manifested creations.
I think that the artist's tensions and activities are nothing else than
these "entropic forces" (tensions) and "entropic fluxes" (activities). In
other words, what I had to lift out by "abstractions of abstractions of
abstractions", giving rise to "because of because of because" is doing
something which artists abhor.
What artists do, is to follow the "from-to" pattern
. tensions&activities ==> artistic manifestions.
Here the "-" in the "from-to" is specifically now written as "==>". In
terms of the
"entropy production" viewpoint, it becomes
. entropic forces&fluxes ==> artistic manifestions
But what is the "becoming" inside this "from-to" pattern which is
symbolised by the arrow "==>"? It is nothing else than the movie "entropy
production" /_\(irr)S.
In other words, the "from-to" pattern of artists
. tensions&activities ==> artistic manifestions.
now becomes
. tensions&activities /_\(irr)S artistic manifestions
It says the following:
. FROM "tensions& activities THROUGH irrversible
. entropy production TO artistic manifestations.
I have made no abstraction here, except for articulating their tacit
knowledge of that THROUGH. Perhaps this articulation of tacit knowing is
what shock learners so much. But as I have explained to Fred, the H atom
of an OH bond hits out at shadows when it has the inner vibrational energy
of becoming to do so. So please allow the H atom some more stretches of
the "vibes" ;-) It may shock religious people, but I merely hit at the
shadows ;-)
Consider the from-to pattern
. God-Creator ==> Creation
As I believe it to be, it is a one-to-many pattern. Every realm of
Creation, physical or spiritual, is an artistic manifestation of
God-Creator. First the realm (art) of elementary particles after the Big
Bang, then the realm (art) of atoms and elements, thereafter the realm
(art) of geological compounds and finally the realm (art) of biological
entities. So far for the physical world. Thereafter the spiritual world
with the realms (art) of sensations, emotions, knowledge, faith and
finally love. Dare I explicate this tacit knowledge on the "==>" which
symbolises the word THROUGH?
In Christainity, for example, this THROUGH is depicted as Jesus Christ.
Many Christians may judge that when I articulate this "==>" with /_\(irr)S
that I am trying to topple Jesus Christ from his throne. I am not trying
to do it. The most encredible thing for me about the ministry of Jesus, is
the profound irreversibility with which he did it. He made ministry an art
which is unprecedented in the entire history of humankind.
It is not a "because, because, because". It is a struggle to articulate
what I know tacitly.
With care and best wishes
