Dear At and pupils;-)
Confucianism...

"innate forming"...
7:28. The Master said, To be sure, there are those who can originate
something of which they did not previously know. I myself have no such
capacity. But to hear much and pick out the good so as to follow it, and see
much and remember it, is the next best kind of knowing.
Back then, centuries before Jesus Christ wandered the (also) 'carpenter
minded' and 'one cornered' Confucius wandered physically and then
metaphysically into the future of his presentness abiding in a past;-)
bringing forth out of confusion states those who would followers become,
the finders of three corners ...here is the original text of the famous
remark of his student/tutor relationship
7:8. The Master said, If they are not eager, I don't expound. If they are
not urgent, I don't explain. If I give out one corner and they don't come
back with three corners, then I don't go on.
Commentary infers Confucius desires inference toward the next
step...remindfulness of Goethe's steps isn't it At?
There is no record I know of Confucius wandering alone for the sake of
solitudinous knowldege and insight. But a period of wandering there was. So
we can infer perhaps something of a love of solitude and pristine living
conditions in this text....
7:16 The Master said, Eating course food, drinking water, crooking one's
arm and pillowing upon it - happiness may be found also in these
circumstances. To be unrighteous and so become wealthy and even honoured -
to me this is like a drifting cloud.
Commentary says that the "drifting cloud" is "indifference".
There is also, elsewhere a lovely reference to the privations of hunger
being assuaged by the aesthetic experience of courtly music, called "The
Shau" (Summons).
Once, a pupil of Confucius is quizzed by a Prince on the nature of this man
Confucius and the pupil refrains. Confucius creates a rare conscious self
portraits by saying, " Why did you not say, This is the kind of man he is,
in his enthusiasm he forgets to eat, in his happiness he forgets his
sorrows, he is not even aware that his old age is at hand."
By The Way dear friend, ...friendship was a pathway in Rvn methinks and
these friendly 'learnings' may be taken from so called 'inferiors' as well
as 'superiors', such was the mapping capacity of a whole learning process
that only death closes down; he asks..."is that not indeed far?" (8:7) How
far does Love go At? How fast does Love go At? Where does it go when 'we'
are all done?
Love,
Andrew,
PS
