Hi Chris
Interesting topic....
I don't think the links have been broken. People just can't see them
anymore. Their focus of attention has moved. People seem to be looking
more, these days, to technology (IT computers, comm's etc), to achieve
their communication for them. But they find the technology failing because
they (people) still need to know how to communicate. (I think I'm getting
on my hobby horse here so I'll get off quick!)
Everything that Arie De Geus wrote in "the Living Company" still holds
true. We seem to be moving back away from people strengths (knowledge,
communicating etc) and moving back to "capital" based things.
I suppose there are some companies out there who will buck this trend. But
it is interesting to see how people (communities and companies) revert
back to "bottom line" drivers when there is pinch on (stock market
depressed, no sign of growth, wars and rumours of wars etc etc).
Interesting lines of thought opening here - thanks for the post.
