David, please let me publicly commend you for your acceptance of personal
responsibility to make for more authenticity and equity in the workplace.
In my experience the workplace is nothing more nor less than a mirror into
our entire social structure. Until we all accept as you do the need to
deal effectively with this issue, recognizing the nature and the politics
of the world we live in, and acting accordingly, then change will continue
to be slow at best.

In the US, the beauty of the system we have, based on the values espoused
in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, is that we can by
definition never be satisfied with what is. We must always be pressing
forward toward an ideal that is never attainable, and is always rising
higher as we understand more fully our limitations and hidden prejudices.
Acting as individuals in ways to close that gap is the best and most
reliable way to move us forward. Thanks for your fervent expression of
commitment.
