Congratulations for "getting involved." One of the key issues for
eliminating risk factors for young people, is to keep them in school and
make sure they profit from being there. There has been much published on
"kids at risk." The current focus, however, is on building resiliency
skills. This shift provides a chance to look at what we all can do to
provide safe environments for kids rather than focusing on what's wrong.

Several authors, in the field, have written scholarly and up to date
articles on this for Critical Linkages (note especially 11/95 issue).
