Your point is well taken, and one with which I concur. The organization
is already seeing some of this effect (of the oldtimers being seen as poor
performers). Much of the effort to date has been to move them into
positions where their strengths are used despite their shortcomings. Many
have chosen to "retire early" or transfer to a less demanding position in
the company.

My main worry about the enthusiasm of the newbies is that they need to see
progress, or will become discouraged and leave. It constitutes a
significant loss to the momentum and growth of specific knowledge among
those with business savvy in general.
