An interesting article in HBR May-June 96 by Larkin & Larkin. Several
pieces of good advice and cautions. I am not convinced by its message
that things should be done through supervisors but its a good warning not
to be enraptured by new electronic means of communication.
My experience suggests that senior management must do as much as possible
of the communication themselves and face-to-face. Not easy with so many
people but not impossible if the story to tell is significant enough.
I'll also fax you a note which describes some UK views which may provide
a different perspective.
