Replying to LO15632 --

Kelly,

I agree with what you said, in part, and felt that some of what you said
on your soap box was because of lack of detail. I could provide more
detail, but I don't think it would serve a real practical purpose. I could
summarize the patterns of behavior, in the department, this way:

-- Management was insensitive to the feelings of their employees
-- Employees were insensitive to the feelings of their managers
-- Managers took revenge on employees
-- Employees took revenge on managers
-- Employees took revenge on each other

Trying to change a department of 120 people who interact in this way is no
easy task. It is a job that is riddled with frustration, and planted thick
with moral dilemmas. I did the best I could, which is all I could do. I
wish I had done a few things differently. But I didn't, and all I can do
is learn from my mistakes and go on. My only hope is that everyone who was
a part of the nightmare has reflected on their own mistakes, and how their
own actions contributed to the labyrinth of problems we faced.
