Are Humans Resources??

Yes. And no.

I work in a company of 10,000 employees, and I am a resource. So is
everyone who works for me. We will be employed as resources in ways that
will keep the company alive and allow it to make the world a better place.
As a consequence of being used as resources, many other employees, and
perhaps me as well, will keep our jobs and be treated with respect and
dignity. At that point we are not resources, we are treated as real
people with real needs.

Good companies, one of which I work for, avoid as much as possible,
treating people as things. However, when the choice comes down to
treating me as a resource in order to preserve jobs for 10,000 other
employees, this company will do what it needs to do. I know that, and I
support it. Paternalism is dead, thank god.
