I suspect that we are using organization to actually mean something very
narrow. Is a family an organization? Is a scout troop? Is a religious
community? Are we only talking about large businesses?
Gareth Morgan talks about different images of organization. The prevelant
images we seem to be using are psychic prision and political oppressor.
Are we not operating out of these images and in some cases imposing these
images on organizations.
I cannot imagine society without organizations. I can imagine more human
organizations, more creative, more interesting.
The American myth of individualism seems also to be operating here.
