This is not the latest but it still works well. Workers are often
concerned about how well or poorly their part of the system works. SPC has
a long track record of improving communication between management and
workers. It is fact based on requires be honest which are two requirements
of communication.
Deming learned the value of the worker communication through the
application of SPC. It still works very well. It requisite that
management understands it and want the facts. If they do it is the best
tool I have found to tell everyone what is really happening. Simply
starting it opens up communications. Companies that have perfect its' use
and allowed it to shape company culture are among the best in the world.
SPC not only requires measurement of results but it requires management to
decide what results to measure. That requirement for a decision forces
management to think about what is important. The measures guides the
actions of supervisors and then helps develop a correct sense of what is
important to success in the organization.
SPC is more than charts it is a management style.
