This seemed to be to be the best summary of this long thread. I recall
Drucker's reference, though not as far back.
My two cents from a recent ODNet conference seminar from two consultants
at the Mill Pond Group _ if memory serves _:
Knowledge Workers can best be defined as those who are constantly creating
at the edge of knowledge, as compared to educated individuals who apply
their education to problems e.g. accountants, physicians, attorneys, etc.
The knowledge workers tend to function more as the lone ranger, preferring
to solve problems in isolation and believing that working with others will
slow them down. This is stereotypic and a _Readers's Digest_ version of
the 3 hour presentation.
Hope this adds to the dialogue.
