Quality and Management: Quality Now and Direction for the 21st Century,
is a conference to be held February 13-14, l998 at the Tempe Mission Palms
in Tempe, AZ. The conference is sponsored by the Academy of Management
with additional funding from Ernst & Young. The conference focuses on
people and process management issues as critical elements in all quality
improvement efforts. The conference will bring together leading academics
and innovative business practitioners whose interests are building and
sustaining quality initiatives. Sessions will feature invited speakers on
various themes [Jan Beyer, culture; Dick Chase, service quality; Barb
Flynn, new product development; Mike Hitt, strategy; Ed Lawler,
organizational change; Tom Ruddy (Xerox), assessing quality efforts; Roger
Schroeder, operations management; Dianna Stone, human resource management;
Frank Tedesco (Juran Institute), future of quality]. Each theme will also
include competitive paper presentations and noted practitioners will be
discussion facilitators.
