thanks for this posting, Dutch. I hear this a lot from organizations,
too. Touchy-feely (what a term this is!) seems to be anathema to many
people--I suspect a prevalent temperament style in the aversion.
Touchy-feely is the primary context, though, in which the relationship of
leader and follower occurs. It is not necessarily a component of
management-labor relations (almost never!).
