Dear colleagues
Don't we rank people any way? Employees rank managers, Managers rank
employees. Are we not suggesting that we should operate without values by
saying we should not rank? Is the issue not one of transparancy of how
the ranking is done and transparancy of the consequences of the ranking?
I find this a difficult question. I have been asked to help improve the
quality of delivery of training for a large multinational. In order to do
this, it seems I have to determine what we mean by quality and who is
delivering it and who is not. I recognize that there are many factors
that go into quality of delivery than have nothing to do with the trainer.
If there is no distingtion made between deliveries, I don't understand how
improvements can be made. In having people assess themselves about the
quality of delivery we discoverd that one issues is there is a wide
difference in what trainers mean by quality.
Thank you
