Regarding your request for leadership tools: At Montefiore Medical Center,
the human resources department developed a curriculum for change called
the wayshower series. Two week long retreats were defined: Navigator and
Architect. The approach was non-traditional and concentrated on the
"personal" challenge of working in a chaotic and constantly changing
world. The book written by Gay Hendricks and Kate Ludeman, "The Corporate
Mystic" provides a roadmap for the effort. The project provide much
needed guidance for staff members of the AIDS Program at the hospital.
Nurses, social workers, mds, management and clerical staff participated.
