Re. Bench Marking / The Learning Organization.

I am Head of Department at The Retail Educational & Training Center at
Naestved Business College in Denmark.

For the moment we are doing a lot of projects. One of them is to combine
our way of combining quality systems with the principles of the learning
organization.

I hold a M.Sc. in Business administration and a cert.ed. For the Moment I
am attending a MBA course in England at South Bank University with
concentration in Educational Management.

For my dissertation I have chosen to look at how to implement elements of
the ideas of the Learning Organization at our college.

I am staring out with diagnosing to what extend my own college is a
Learning Organization.

After doing that I want to Benchmark with 2-3 other colleges one or two
being a Danish college; but I am also keen to find a college preferably in
California which would like to participate.

I can offer the final result of the dissertation, which would make the
college able to compare themselves to one or two other colleges which I
plan to Benchmark with one of them might end up being an English college.

The reason that it would be nice if it could be a California college is
that I am attending the American Society for Training and Development
Conference from the 30th of May to the 4th of June this year. In the week
after that conference I have the opportunity to stay in California and do
the research for the Benchmarking.

I hope that you would be able to put me into contact with relevant
colleges.

One of the reasons that I am looking for an American College is that
Danish colleges for the moment are pretty small; but in the future we are
facing mergers which will make us larger and some of the ways of
organizing delivering of the curriculum I expect will turn to some of the
principles that American colleges uses.

Being a Head of Department of the Retail Educational and Training Center,
it would be nice if the college you refer to, would have some continued
education and have experience with delivering courses to companies
although it is not crucial.

Yours sincerely
