After an absence of just over 2 years I am again in a position to
appreciate the list. When I was last here, I was in the process of
completing a dissertation on my old company, and the elements of a
learning organisation which it displayed. At that time my three points of
reference were Argyris, Schein and Senge.
Since the last time I was here, I have moved to France (from the UK) and
have just started a project with a group of 15 small/medium sized
companies (from a number of different European countries and from a number
of different business sectors) to look at how they can become more
flexible - for example, flexibility of working time, improved social
dialogue. This group of 15 will act as pioneers for a larger group of
50-60 and, as such, will need to fulfill twin objectives (which are not
necessarily wholly compatible):
- successfully implement their work organisation project ("short term
objective");
- provide some elements of learning which can be used by the larger group
("long term objective").
My questions are:
- how best to "extract" the experience gained by the pioneers and
"transmit" it to the larger group
- how to recognise and take account of the impact of the cultural
differences which exist within Europe
Any help on these topics would be gratefully appreciated.
I look forward to participating in the list.

p.s.if there are any fellow "el-oh" members in France who would like to
talk about the particularities of this country then please get in touch.
