Hi,
I got this idea from a Wilson Learning course in a slightly different
format.
The modern version of this jewel comes from an ancient Arab proverb
Unconscious Incompetent
"He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool .... shun
him"
Conscious Incompetent
"He who knows not, and knows that he knows not is ignorant ..... teach
him"
Unconscious Competent
"He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is asleep ..... wake him"
Conscious Competent
"But he who knows, and knows that he knows , is a wise man ..... follow
him"
You will notice that in this version the conscious competent is the
highest level because the model sees this level as the one where you are
in complete control of what you are doing and are able to coach or help
others.
Since the one that goes from Unconscious Incompetent to unconscious
competent is more usually used I often use this one and add know things so
well that can easily pass the skills etc on to others.
