Am an internet browser that "happened" upon the Learning-Org, and have
been skimming the LO archives for a while. The topics and discussions
have piqued my interests, and I find myself continually returning for
more.
I am an evaluation specialist at ALU LIKE, Inc., a private non-profit
organization that provides services statewide to the native Hawaiian
community in Hawai`i. ALU LIKE administers government (federal, state,
county) and donor-funded social, employment, education, and economic
development programs. While I am currently with our Carl D.
Perkins-funded vocational education program, my interests tend to reflect
the diversity of our projects overall, and often "diverge" from the area
of education altogether.
Please don't hold me to a laundry list! But, if one is needed...
evaluation and assessment (education, vocational education, employment,
at-risk/minority populations, alcohol and substance abuse programs);
indigeneous peoples (ethnography); organizational theory; public policy
and elderly services.
Currently, I have an interest in one-stop / workforce / career centers,
and welfare reform; as we are in the process of initiating a technology
center and one-stop system for native Hawaiians.
