The web site referenced below (IRM College, National defense Univ.)
includes a competency model used as a conceptual basis to educate Chief
Information Officers (CIO's) in the U.S. Federal Government. It is
specifically oriented towards the public sector, however, the majority
also apply to private sector organizations. A series of graduate level
courses are aligned to meet the competencies indicated in the "competency
wheel" shown in a diagram.
