Varun Maharaj asked for the names of associations that provide distance
learning. We are one.
We offer a business writing program online that pairs participants with a
personal writing consultant. After reading a unit of our text, students
submit a piece of writing they've prepared for their job. We return
comments and corrections on the original document, as well as detailed
commentary telling students what they're doing well and what areas they
can improve.
Our participants then incorporate that feedback into the next assignment
they submit. This goes on over five units of instruction.
For those who don't have access to the Internet or e-mail, we also have a
hardcopy version of the course and participants can mail or fax
assignments to us.
We also have a distance learning program in speaking/presentation skills
that is similar in design to our writing program, except students submit
audiotaped or videotaped talks/presentations for review.
