Let me clarify: in what concerns the assessment of students in the
"Management course", there are no tests, nor formal "examinations", as I
wrote. But, on the other side :
- There is an Inquiry in the end of first term, and again in the end of
the second term, that is answered anonimously by the students of the
Management course, where they evaluate teaching methods (among other
things);
- A general Quality Evaluation of the Department ( evaluating all the
subjects ) took place 2 years ago, but the treatment of the results was
very complex; a new I/S application is planned and afterwords this
Evaluation will take place each year.
- There are also meetings to discuss problems and improvements in teaching
methods organized among teachers and, once a year, among the teachers and
the students.
Transforming an University ( or parts of an University) in a LO, is not
mainly ( IMHO) a question of mesure, evaluation and making small
improvements in the way "teachers impart knowledge" - the main question, I
think, is how to develop a "passion for learning" and a "passion for
dialogue and communication"; is about creating ways that help students to
"learn how to learn", both individually and as a group, is about having
teachers that act a bit less as "teachers", and a bit more as coachers,
trainers, leaders and consultants in the learning process.

Thanks for that, Gene; I hope this dialogue can help all of us to see a
bit clearer in this matter, that is so complex and so important in our
responsabilities towards the next generation(s).
