>Until we learn the basic lessons of systems design, and apply these to our
>own economy, we will be saddled with an unreliable, crash-prone
>economic system, one which will cause us endless suffering.
I do not believe in endless suffering. There may be a system breakdown.
But this is not more suffering than to fear, that ones wealth will have an
end some day. So I agree, when you write:
>Often, it is better to junk the misdesigned system altogether and
>to start again from scratch.
>Saddled with a system that embraces globalization and leaves us at the
>mercy of its side-effects, this is perhaps what we should also do.
But I am wondering, whether there is really something we should do. I
trust that the side effects will do the job for us. We are part of the
system much more than system designer.
