Hi Gustav,
Information systems have a key function for double or deutero loop
learning, but first you have to define your knowledge management
infrastructure. This contains of four components:
obtaining knowledge
distribution of knowledge
interpretation of knowledge
organizational memory
These four components are tightly interconnected with eachother. When you
have established this infrastructure you are able to look at it as a whole
and you can make strategic choices if you want to adapt the structure to
changes in the outside world. To support the meta thinking of the
knowledge management infrastructure it is nearly essential to have
information systems because of the complexity of this infrastructure and
the need for matching, distribution and archiving. Problem is that there
is no single information system that supports this infrastructure. For
several parts of it you have excelent solutions, but to have them chatting
you will have to buy a lot of support from clearing house experts.
