I like it! Those quips can be useful. His boss had a useful framework.

And it reminded me of the president of a large US trucking firm, in the
midst of a management retreat with all his top people and in the middle of
our discussion of the value of employee involvement and participation in
the improvement of morale and the reduction of turnover:

"That is like asking the vegetables how to design a refrigerator."

That thinking was much less useful, methinks. And, to this day, I still
wonder how he came up with that one!
