Replying to LO22179 --
I see leadership as the capacity to influence. This can be both formal or
informal. In working groups, I've noticed that leadership is often
situational. Some people's leadership capabilities are stronger when
content is being discussed or action needs to be taken. With others,
leadership skills become more apparent when dealing with things like
conflict or building concensus. In other words we are all leaders at some
time or other, depending on our capacity to influence in any given
situation.
