Rick, my deepest gratitude for your intervention. After 5+ years as a
listener and occasional contributor, I was seriously considering
unsubscribing.

I want to listen for some other responses to your question, but will
venture this:

What is it about the discussion, learning, and listening process in this
and other venues that makes it so apparently difficult for people of
strong opinions to balance inquiry and advocacy? and how may we who hold
the principle dear foster it in our organizations?

Enough for now; I fear the rush of new postings may overwhelm this as well
as others attempts to re-enter the conversation.

With hope,

Malcolm
