In LO25223 Leo Minnigh offers some thoughts on language and learning in
which he wonders,

>Sustains one language creative thinking more than another language??

I am immediately reminded of what is sometimes known as the Sapir-Whorf
hypothesis, which suggests that languages do indeed shape thought. There
are many workers who believe that some non-Indo-European languages are
much better suited to thinking about issues such as quantum theory than
the Indo-European languages which gave us the Copernican revolution and
the Newtonian universe.

A good, accessible, article on this is "Stealing the Fire" by linguist Dan
Moonhawk Alford. It can be found at:

Best wishes,

Richard.
