Replying to LO29901 --
. . .Jesus set a tremendously challenging and powerful
standard for Forgiveness in the prayer he taught
"forgive us our sins in the same measure as
we forgive those who sin against us." (LO29885)
. . .dogmas depict Jesus as a religious figure.
Jesus was far more than that.
He was someone who knew the will of God. (LO29901)
. . .I believe that Jesus placed one thing above miracles among men,
forgiveness. Forgiveness from the heart. (LO29901)
I try to daily live by the admonition:
"Freely ye have received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8).
I am most happy when I am giving. There is always
someone poorer, sadder, with worse health and numerous other
afflictions than me.
Giving helps me to focus on others instead of dwelling on myself.
Honest, joyful giving helps me to grow and allows my
my inner spirit to touch mankind.
It has been asked, ^ÓCan one person make a difference?^Ô
I believe so. Perhaps one person cannot change the world,
but one person can change another person^Òs world by giving of time,
talents, energy, food, resources, knowledge
and most importantly, love.
I have always found that I receive more than I give^×
Especially when I give freely.
A friend sent me the following thought-provoking short essay.
Thought I^Òd share it with the LO community.
Love,
Carola
"Everyone in the world wants to be loved and accepted,
and the love of God-that wonderful gift He freely gives us-
satisfies that need. His love flows to us, and then it should
flow through us to other people.
Now I see myself as a container full of blessings.
I want to be the type of person who can pour
out God's love into the lives of the people around me.
I've found that I'm always happier when I choose
to make others happy.
In the Bible, God calls Christians the salt of the earth.
He expects us to "season" the lives of those around us.
All of life is tasteless without love.
Love is the salt, the energy of life,
and the reason to get up every morning.
Every day can be exciting if we see ourselves
as God's secret agents, waiting to sprinkle
a little salt on all the lives we encounter.
And we know that because we are deeply loved by God,
we can never run out of love,
no matter how much we give away." (Joyce Meyer)
