Hi learning-orgs:

My name is Cesar Jimenez, I've been a lurker for a while, just deciding to
take part more actively in this list.

I'm the Planning and Systems Manager for APM, a Steel Company located in
Monterrey, Mexico, and some of my duties are related with the introduction
of new technologies and processes reengineering to build a better
organization. The concepts of learning org and Senge's ideas are starting
to get shape in the form of projects both for technology as well as for
human development.

The question I would like to be help with is the following: For those
projects where the benefits are not always tangible and measurable, How do
you express the qualitative benefits in order to appeal the top level
managers?

For example, What are the real benefits of technologies like e-mail, Lotus
Notes or Network introduction? How do you express those benefits that we
perceive but are difficult to manage? Could you provide me some examples
in these areas (notes, e-mail, networks)? For me, these are the primary
tools that the people from a learning org could use to start.

I hope that this is not a theme you have discussed it in the past.

Richard: Thank you for the opportunity of share these ideas and concerns
with so many brilliant and talented people, I have learned a lot from them
in a very short period of time...

[Host's Note: Thanks, Cesar, and welcome to LO! ...Rick]
