written by Laurie Bassi and Mark Van Buren titled "Sustaining High
Performance in Bad Times". The article looks at varios perf. mgmt.
practices, the incidence of downsizing, performance gaps between downsized
orgs. and undownsized orgs., best practices in downsizing, and the
