Dynamics of TRUST.
I wonder whether we understand much about the dynamics of trust.
I agree that trust can be delicate and easily destroyed. However, I also
suggest that there are some forces promoting trust. Trust is an absolute
essential to life - life is so much more complex when we cannot trust.
Trust can be forced (do we trust our surgeon, or our airline pilot - we
don't have an option!). Basically, most of us trust more people and
systems in the society than we realise. Distrust is generated, I think,
mainly through fear, alienation or continual demonstrations of bad faith.
I dno't think it is uncommon, but it is always relative - never absolute -
and can be promoted ans destroyed by diferent situations and environments.
I think we need to understand more about these.
