Replying to LO15897 --

Vana Prewitt described the challenge of capturing knowledge in a systems
conversion project.

Vana I would start by breaking the learning down into the key elements of
the project e.g.

scope and objectives
analysis approach
project management approach
business functionality
tools used
human and cultural issues
business issues
technology issues
managing the stakeholders
etc.

you may also want to have a section for each module / program in the
design.

I'd then have the team identify key points of learning under the headings
and for each point define a question that the learmning answers.

As new learning is added it can be placed under existing headings /
questions or new ones can be added.

I'd open the database up to users as soon as possible and let them enter
theur own questions - you may find that this unleashes further learning
that hadn't come out from the earlier steps.

This could all be done in a workshop setting with people rotating around
charts on the walls posting both questions and answers.

I hope this helps
