Bruno Bettelheim in the 60's and 70's was the expert on using fairy tales
as a learning tool. His book the The Uses of Enchantment is still used by
many University psych grad schools. Much of his writings can also be used
in a corporate environment.

note: most of Bruno B research work is now thought to have been falsified
yet some of his claims have been replicated by others.

Bill Bennet's book on fairy tales is also a good source for individual and
organizational learning.

The following web site is an interesting look at fairy tales:

You may have guessed I do use story telling and tools like " A whack on
the side of the head" cards when doing training.
