I feel that you don't hide behind your outfit of the day, you maintain
yourself at whatever given space you may be in. In other words, you can
wear a business suit for a meeting that you attend so that you can feel
like everyone else that is attending this meeting. If you all decide to
wear bathrobes that is the preogative of the agenda. I don't feel we hide
behind our clothes, but we adjust to our environment and what is perceived
to be "right." If you know yourself then you are not afraid of revealing
yourself in whatever you are wearing that day. Remember the story, the
Emperor's New Clothes?"
Most people tend to judge by the first meeting and always look at what
that person is wearing. I have learned to look beyond the outer person
and take that person from another avenue in life and adjust my feelings
that way. In other words, look within and hold any thoughts of negativity
until further meetingts. First meetings are not always the best side of
everyone. It is an individual call.
I have a close friend, not matter what looks like she just stepped out of
a fashion magazine, even when she is working in the yard. I once asked
her if she is relaxed, and she stated that she is more comfortable with
her makeup on. I still think she is a beautiful person inside.
