I visited the IDON web site and am lost. What is the IDON process and how
does it differ from the rest of the consulting world's "navigational"
tools?
I am sure that many on this listserv can supply a list of consulting firms
that do creative scenario and problem solving workshops. Many of these
have their own package of tools and trainer certification programs. How do
all of these differentiate themselves in the market place.
I have associates who have "closets" full of "tools" and who groan visibly
when management announces the next event. And I have both a business
materials publisher and a book seller who rub their hands with glee as the
"next" round of business "self-help" materials pushes out the "current" on
his tables.
It would be very helpful to hear from those who have been at the other end
of these sessions.
I am a program chair for an organization of strategic leadership/planning.
Our upper level executives members seem to run away from meetings where
there are presenters representing these arenas and our middle manager
members seem to be caught up in the ritual of the monthly meetings when
these ideas are presented (yawn, clap, clap)
What most are starting to realize is that the cost are very high in
employee time off the job and not in consulting fees
I am very interested in thoughts from both sides- have we reached some
ceiling or plateau. Are we in some HRM version of Sarte's No Exit
thoughts?
