Dear All

Those who are serious about what is leadership should read Elliot Jaques
on leadership, how specifically you measure leadership what it is etc. I
have read many many book on this subject so far the only one that of any
use is the Time Horizon measurement by Jaques and Stamp.. Longitudinal
studies by Jaques, Stamp, Bucy, Isaacs, Gibson have identified the mental
complexity of reasoning, ability to abstract, applied capability and
future capability, Time Horizon as some of the key elements of leadership.

Those who are really interested in this subject should takes Jaques very
seriously.

[Host's Note: Gavin or anyone else, please give us a couple of starting
references to Elliot Jaques' work. I had the opportunity to hear Jaques
speak for a one-day seminar last year and thought he made a lot of sense.
