IMHO, there are many 'reasons' and 'ways' for appreciation. Dr Deming's
System of Profound Knowledge begins with 'appreciating for a system'.
Someone trace the origins of the word "appreciate" that it is not only
'estimate highly' but with certain devotion.
In recent Thanksgiving holiday, I read a message:"There are numerous
scientific studies which demonstrate the benefits of thankful prayer."
How to appreciate life and others without 'over-justifications'? One of my
admired passage is Dr Deming's "Appreciation? Certainly." pp.113-14 of The
New Economics.
This is only one of his examples. He invited one of his conference
coordinators back 1978 in Taiwan to attend one of his four day seminars in
1990 to show his thanks.
I participate this list to show my appreciation.
Sincerely,
Hanching Chung
