Why do we create organisations? LO15854

I've just been flicking quickly through some of November's messages and
the question that's been bugging me for the last five years, is still
bugging me. Can you honestly tell me that you all enjoy working in
organisations and wouldn't swap the experience? Organisations are a
manifestation of society. We pride ourselves on attaining a classless
society, and yet within organisations we recreate those same class
structures, "them and us".

The messages posted in this forum indicate the frustration and distressed
experienced by some individuals within organisations. Interestingly, some
of those involved wish to create their own organisation, one which will be
better, more understanding than the one they have left.

[Host's Note: I'm convinced that the frustration and distress level is
*more* severe than what is indicated in the messages here on learning-org.

My question is why? Why do we have this compulsion to create
organisations?
